What is there to do in Benahavís?

The old town of Benahavís retains the typical character of Andalusian villages: whitewashed façades, pots of colourful flowers and cosy squares where time seems to slow down. Perched high above the town are the ruins of Montemayor Castle, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean coast, Gibraltar and even Africa on clear days.

Known as the ‘dining capital of the Costa del Sol’, Benahavís is renowned for its excellent cuisine.

As well as its cultural and culinary attractions, Benahavís is a paradise for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts. Its mountain trails, hiking routes and activities such as canyoning on the River Guadalmina make it an ideal destination for active tourism.

The area is also known for its prestigious golf courses and exclusive residential developments, which have established its reputation as a high-end residential destination.

What is there to see near Benahavís?

Thanks to its strategic location, Benahavís offers the best of both worlds: the tranquillity and authenticity of an Andalusian village, combined with easy access to some of southern Spain’s most attractive destinations.

It enjoys a strategic location right on the Costa del Sol. It is just a 10–15-minute drive from Marbella, making it easy to enjoy its beaches, Puerto Banús marina, shopping facilities and vibrant social scene, whilst living in a more relaxed setting surrounded by nature.

Furthermore, Benahavís is very close to Estepona, known for its well-preserved historic centre, its seafront promenade and its growing range of cultural and culinary attractions. On the other hand, about an hour’s drive away lies Ronda, one of Andalusia’s most iconic towns, famous for its impressive gorge, its Puente Nuevo bridge and its rich historical heritage. This proximity makes it easy to combine the sea, the mountains and culture all in one area.
